After 6 years the court finally gave its verdict on the Chandan Gupta murder case. The family of Chandan Gupta fought a long battle.
The murder of Chandan Gupta leads to the violence. On Thursday the NIA special court convicted 28 accused in the infamous Chandan Gupta murder case.
The court has convicted following people in this case: Asif Qureshi alias Hitler, Aslam Qureshi, Asim Qureshi, Shabab, Saqib, Munajir Rafi, Aamir Rafi, Salim, Wasim, Naseem, Bablu, Akram, Taufiq, Mohsin, Rahat, Salman, Asif, Asif Gym Wala, Nishu, Wasif, Imran, Shamshad, Zafar, Shakir, Khalid Parvez, Faizan, Imran, Shakir, Zahid alias Jagga. All these people are convicted under sections 147, 148, 307/149, 302/149, 341, 336, 504 and 506.
The court found the accused guilty of several charges, including murder, attempted murder, rioting, and insulting the national flag.
According to Times Now, out of 28 accused, 26 were physically present in the court. However, one accused attended the hearing through video conferencing. The warrant was issued against the accused who didn’t attend the hearing.

About The Case
Chandan Gupta was 20 year-old and was a B.Com final year student. He was the youngest person in the family. Chandan Gupta was killed on January 26, 2018. He was shot dead during the Tiranga Yatra. During the event, a dispute erupted between the two communities. Following this, Chandan Gupta was shot dead.
Following this incident violence erupted in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. The family of deceased Chandan Gupta had to wait for a long time to get justice. In this case police arrested over 100 people including the main accused Wasim and Salim.
According to media reports, when the Tiranga Yatra reached the GGIC gate in Kasganj, several individuals blocked their way. When Chandan raised his voice against this, the situation got worse. Following this, the stone pelting started on him. One of the accused fired a at Chandan Gupta.
After this incident, the brother of Chandan Gupta and his companion took him to the Kasganj police station, as per media reports. From the police station, Chandan was taken to hospital. Later he died due to bullet injury.
