New Delhi: Chaos ensued in West Bengal soon after the Panchayat polls were declared that recently turned fatal too. In the latest, the media reports have mentioned that at least 20 people have been killed so far in the violence, including at least three from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Following these incidents, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state chief Sukanta Majumdar reached Hazratpur village in Dakshin Dinajpur to take a stock of the situation. He met the locals there who started complaining against the police inaction during the violence.

They accused that the police did not perform their duties properly. Majumdar heard them and also had a verbal confrontation with the police officials, as seen in the video.

Not only that but the BJP workers gathered outside the West Bengal State Election Commission office in Kolkata to protest the on-going violence that took lives of three BJP leaders.

The BJP workers also gathered at Srikrishnapur in Nandakumar block of East Medinipur where the alleged ballot rigging was reported. Following which, a protest was held in the area against the ballot rigging but the police had to lathicharge to disperse the crowd in order to keep the situation in control.

Amid the constant bloodshed, the polls were held on July 8. A fortnight ago, four leaders from ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Opposition in the state, Congress, were killed. Meanwhile, on the night the polls were done, Trinamool Congress leader Maitur Rahman was stabbed to death.
