A shocking incident has been reported from West Bengal where a doctor has been arrested for allegedly raping his patient at Hasnabad. The accused doctor raped his 26-year-old patient several times at his clinic by injecting sedative. The sedative left the woman unconscious and the doctor allegedly took advantage of the situation. The woman in her complaint mentioned that she had gone to see the doctor for treatment. During treatment, the doctor gave her an injection that left her unconscious as it contained sedative. She claimed that the doctor then raped her and even clicked her pictures. He used those pictures to blackmail her later. She alleged that the doctor threatened to post her pictures on social media platforms if she doesn’t pay him Rs 4 lakh.
What Did The Police Say?
Police stated the woman used to live alone in Hasnabad area of North 24 Parganas, while her husband lived out of city for work purposes.
The victim told about the incident to her husband after he returned and the couple then filed complaint against the doctor.
India Today quoted woman’s husband who said that his wife used to visit clinic for treatment. During the consultation, she was asked to take an injection. The woman had refused to take the injection initially but she was convinced by the doctor to take injection for her speedy recovery. She started feeling dizzy after taking the injection, the doctor asked her to lie in a bed and take rest. After regaining consciousness she realized that she wasn’t properly dressed and had been raped.
He added that his wife had tried to kill herself after she was blackmailed by the doctor.
Police registered case against the doctor and investigation was carried. He was arrested within few hours of the FIR being registered, said the Police. SP Hossain Mehedi Rehman told India Today that investigation was launched immediately after the complaint of woman was received. The prime accused was arrested within few hours and he is being sent to police custody by the court. The accused is being questioned for further details, added the police.
