Several videos of the protest surfaced online which showed a group of villagers clashing with the police, they carried sticks and vandalized the police station, broke chair, smashed bike and damaged other properties. They surrounded the police officials and demanded action at the earliest.

BJP leader Amit Malviya took to his X and slammed Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal Government over its failure to safeguard the girls and women of the state. He wrote, “During Durga Puja, as West Bengal celebrates Devi Shakti, women and girls are unsafe. Unless Asuri Shaktis, at the helm of the State’s affair, are not defeated, crimes against women will continue, unabated. Mamata Banerjee has to GO for women to be safe in Bengal.”
