Bolpur (West Bengal): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted yet another raid against Trinamool Congress (TMC) strongman Anubrata Mondal at Bolpur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal.
On Friday, CBI officials raided a rice mill belonging to a close associate of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Anubrata Mondal. The CBI officials broke open the lock of the mill door before going inside and checking the documents.
CBI officials raided a rice mill named Bhole Byom in Bolpur on Friday. According to sources, the ownership of this mill is in the name of Birbhum Trinamool Congress (TMC) district president Anubrata Mondal’s daughter and wife.
The CBI officials were initially prevented from entering the rice mill. Allegedly, when the CBI officials were trying to enter the rice mill, they were blocked by the security guards. The mill gate was locked.
After about 40 minutes of struggle, the CBI officials managed to enter the building.
According to sources, Anubrata Mondal’s daughter Sukanya herself used to live in this building. She is also a primary school teacher. According to sources, one Haradhan Mandal was the owner of this mill. Anubrata Mondal had bought this mill in 2013.
Anubrata Mondal’s bank account has been checked earlier. According to sources, the CBI has also looked into the bank accounts and business dealings of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader’s close associates to get the whereabouts of his assets.
