West Bengal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday arrived in Kolkata for his one-day visit to West Bengal. Shah will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects of the Land Port Authority of India and the Border Security Force (BSF) during his visit.
Shah’s state visit will begin on Tuesday morning. He paid his tribute at the statue of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at Jorasanko Thakurbari in Kolkata. Shah will later lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects of the Land Port Authority of India and the BSF at the Integrated-Check Post Petrapole in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas, located on the India-Bangladesh border.

Explain that ICP Petrapole, located on the international border between India and Bangladesh, is the largest land port in South Asia. It is situated at a distance of about 80 km from Kolkata city of West Bengal.
The Home Minister will also attend an event related to the release of the full dome film ‘Luminaries of Bengal’ and the inauguration of various projects at Science City, Kolkata in the evening.
The home minister’s day-long visit to West Bengal will end with his participation in the birth anniversary celebrations of Rabindranath Tagore by Khola Hawa at Science City, Kolkata.
