West Bengal: 3 Coaches Of Shalimar-Secunderabad Superfast Express derailed near Howrah in West Bengal on Saturday, officials said. Around three coaches of the train derailed. The railway officials arrived at the spot and rescue operation got initiated. Several passengers got injured in the train derailment.
According to railways, there is no such major damage, no casualties so far and only some of the people got minor injuries. According to reports, among the three coaches which got derailed, one was parcel van and the other two were the passenger coaches.
The accident happened around 5:30 am today, in which three coaches of the “22850 Secunderabad – Shalimar Weekly Express” got derailed and went off the track. Secunderabad – Shalimar Weekly Express was crossing the Nalpur station of Kharagpur Division this morning when the coaches derailed, South Eastern Railway said.

CPRO South-Eastern Railway Confirmed that, “A total of 3 coaches of the 22850 Secundrabad Shalimar SF Express have derailed, including one parcel van and 2 coaches”.
The Railway stated that, the medical relief trains from Santragachi and Kharagpur were immediately sent for assistance. The weekly train got derailed in Nalpur, which is 40 km from Kolkata.
The South Eastern Railway mentioned that, “Both reached the derailment spot and busses have been arranged to carry the stranded passengers to their destinations”. The process for restoration is underway at the accident spot.
