Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita met US President-elect Donald Trump a day before the second inauguration of the Republic leader. The Ambanis met the president elect at a pre-inauguration dinner in Washington D.C.
According to various reports, the Ambanis, who reached US capitol Washington on January 18, were part of a select 100 who attended an intimate ‘candlelit dinner’ with trump last evening. They were perhaps the only Indians to attend the dinner where Vice President-elect JD and Usha Vance also met them. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and other global business leaders also attended the pre-inauguration dinner. The Ambanis’ attendance at the inauguration highlights their strong relationship with the Trump family.
Mukesh Ambani has previously been involved in events like Ivanka Trump’s visit to Hyderabad for Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2017 and President Trump’s trip to India in February 2020. Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, and their eldest daughter Arabella Rose were among the high-profile guests at the glittering three-day pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant. The grand event took place in Jamnagar, Gujarat, in March 2024, attracting a host of celebrities and dignitaries from around the world.
The couple is anticipated to attend Trump’s swearing-in ceremony on January 20. According to ANI, Mukesh Ambani, who is among the world’s richest individuals, is expected to be seated alongside other prominent guests, including members of Trump’s Cabinet and elected officials. They will be attending as personal guests of the Trump family.
At the pre-inauguration dinner, the Mukesh Ambani and Nita were photographed alongside other Indian entrepreneurs, including Pankaj Bansal, Managing Director of M3M Developers, and Kalpesh Mehta, Founder of Tribeca Developers.
Sharing a photo from the event on Instagram, Mehta posed with Mukesh and Nita Ambani, captioning it: “Fun night with Nita and Mukesh Ambani at the inaugural event for President Trump.”

Donald Trump’s second inauguration is anticipated to be a star-studded affair. Among the expected attendees are President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, their spouses First Lady Jill Biden and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, as well as former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
The world’s wealthiest individuals, including tech entrepreneur and outspoken Trump supporter Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, are expected to hold prominent positions at the ceremony.
Additionally, other major tech leaders such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi are also reported to be attending.
