New Delhi: Congress chief of Karnataka unit DK Shivakumar on Tuesday reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to harass the Opposition leaders and said they will “fight it”.

“They’re trying to harass Opposition leaders, we’ll fight it. We’re with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. You can’t harass us anymore,” said Congress leader Shivkumar.

Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi is currently appearing for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogation in the National Herald money laundering case.

Gandhi Tuesday was called for the second round of questioning. Earlier, on July 21, she was interrogated nearly for two hours.

Meanwhile, party leaders have called for nation-wide protest called “Satyagraha” saying that the ED summon of Sonia Gandhi is an “attack on democracy’.

Earlier in the day, Congress leader Ajay Maken addressed a press conference and said, “Today, the Congress is conducting a satyagraha across the nation against this attack on democracy. We will also raise our voice in Parliament. We are all for peaceful protests, but in order for that, it is the duty of the police to also ensure and cooperate [sic].”

Congress leader Maken also informed that they were denied permission to hold protest at Rajghat in Delhi. He asserted that the party wanted to demonstrate in front of memorial of Mahatama Gandhi as it is a “symbolic place.”
