Temperature to go above 35 degree in March

Weather Updates: Second month of this year comes to an end and March will start from tomorrow. The weather has changed drastically from the last few days. People are feeling hot for the past few days. It is estimated that the temperature will go above 35 degree ahead of Holi. After the severe cold, people must be ready to face sultry days ahead. Weather Updates: IMD says

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), people may face severe heat in some areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh today. The temperature here can go above 35 degree Celsius. Apart from this, the temperature is likely to remain above 35 degrees in some areas of Rajasthan. According to MID, at present the temperature in most of the states is about 4-5 degree Celsius above normal.

Weather Updates: Rain and hailstorm

However, the rainy season along with snowfall is still going on in the higher mountainous areas. Meanwhile a Western Disturbance has become active. Due to which change in the weather is being seen once again. Due to the Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain and snow in the high altitude areas even today. Light rain and snow may occur at many places over Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur. During this, strong winds can also blow at many places.

Weather Updates: Weather changing rapidly

Along with this, the weather is changing rapidly in the plains of the country and people have already started feeling the heat. Due to strong sunlight during the day time, the heat is seen increasing continuously at many places. The heat has increased even during the night. Due to this there is a need to run the fan. In many parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, the temperature has reached close to 40 degree Celsius. It is feared that if the weather conditions remain like this, then this year the heat may break many of its old records as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a change in temperature and dry environment in the coming days.

According to an estimate, there is a possibility of an increase in temperature by 2 to 3 degrees above normal in the next few days at many places in the plains. An increase in temperature can be recorded at many places in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR. At present, the minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR is 16 and the maximum temperature is around 31 degrees Celsius, which is 8 degrees above normal. Significantly, on February 20 in Delhi, breaking the record of 17 years, the maximum temperature was 33.6 degree Celsius. However, for the last three-four days, there has been a slight softening in the temperature here. But once again there are chances of increase in it.

Light rain expected

According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, between today and March 2, the intensity of rain and snowfall may increase over the Western Himalayas. Light to moderate rain and snow may occur over Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Light rain is expected over Assam, Jammu, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Along with this, thundershowers may occur in parts of Punjab, North Haryana and South Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility of rain in parts of Haryana, North West Rajasthan and North West Uttar Pradesh on 1st and 2nd March.
