Weather Update Today, September 24 2023: In the weather update today, September 24, several parts of the nation are likely to witness heavy to moderate rain. Meanwhile, some parts of the country, which were witnessing heavy rainfall, have seen a declining trend.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many parts of the country till September 30. There is a possibility of rain as well as thunderstorm on September 24 and 25. IMD has also issued a yellow alert in this regard whereas on September 27 and 28, moderate to heavy rain alongwith thunder and lightning are also possible at many places.

IMD Prediction 

According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is expected today at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya.

Along with this, there are chances of heavy rain in many places including Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra, Gujarat region, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Yanam, Rayalaseema.

There is no special possibility of rain in Delhi-NCR today. However, many areas may remain partly cloudy. During this period, drizzle may occur at some places.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for the next 7 days in many parts of Maharashtra. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there may be moderate to heavy rains in many districts of Maharashtra till September 29.

There is a possibility of light rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Northeast Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

There are chances of moderate to heavy rain at many places in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Maharashtra, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls is expected over Southern Madhya Pradesh, Eastern Gujarat, Southeast Rajasthan, Western Assam, Meghalaya and Lakshadweep.

There are chances of light to moderate rain at one or two places with isolated heavy rain in parts of Punjab, Uttarakhand, Northeast India, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
