New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in North India until October 12. Additionally, rain is expected in the North East, North West, and Eastern regions, with a chance of light drizzle in the capital, Delhi, accompanied by cloudy conditions.
Tamil Nadu may experience sporadic rain with lightning until October 11, and rain alerts have been issued for South Karnataka on October 10 and Kerala on October 12. Central and western India will remain clear for the next four days.
After October 12, rainfall is anticipated in parts of South Peninsular India, Northeast India, and islands for two days, with the possibility of sporadic rain in Eastern India. Other regions will experience unchanged weather conditions. Alerts have been issued for storms in various areas until Thursday, and the Meteorological Department expects the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon in the next two days.

The states where conditions for monsoon withdrawal are developing include parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Monsoon withdrawal is ongoing in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and some parts of Maharashtra and the central Arabian Sea.
Light to heavy rain is expected in parts of Northeast India, Tamil Nadu, and Coastal Karnataka. There is a possibility of similar conditions in some parts of Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Snowfall may occur in Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, as well as the chance of rain in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep, while other areas will remain clear.
