Weather Update: THESE states may experience heavy rainfall today
The monsoon has drenched many states in southern and eastern India. The people in the Delhi-NCR region and the rest of North India may also expect relief from the extreme heat in the next few days.
Weather Forecast: Many states in southern and eastern India have been experiencing heavy rain over the past several days due to the onset of the monsoon. Pre-monsoon rains have taken place in the Delhi-NCR region as well.
As a result, the extreme summer heat in most of India and the scorching heat waves of North India have receeded, muc to the relief of the people.
Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka and Gujarat may experience moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains for the next five days in many states including Karnataka, Kerala and Goa. The IMD has also issued a rain alert for many other states including Bihar and Jharkhand. Heavy rain is very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
According to its latest update by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of thunderstorms in Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala and Lakshadweep. A rain alert has also been issued for Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next five days.
Over the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain have occurred over Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Marathwada and Uttarakhand.
The monsoon is now moving rapidly towards North India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) there is a possibility of rain in the Delhi-NCR region from June 28.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain may occur in parts of Sikkim, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Goa, Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
