New Delhi: From the mountains to the plains, there has been relief from the incidents of floods and landslides due to reduced rain activities in the states of North India. The weather remains dry in the states of North India. Whereas in the southern states, the process of moderate to heavy rains is continuing. For many states including Assam, Mizoram, rain alert continues for today (Monday), September 5.

According to the weather forecasting agency Skymet, the North-South Trough is extending from the cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep to North Madhya Maharashtra via Konkan. An East-West Trough is extending from circulation to South-East Bay of Bengal.

Chances of rain in these states

Heavy rain and thundershower/lightning are very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 3 days. At the same time, good rains can be seen in Himachal Pradesh on September 05. Apart from this, during the next 5 days, there will be a decrease in the rain activities in the plains of Northwest India and Central India.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, moderate rain and thundershowers will occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Very heavy rain is possible. Widespread rain may occur in many parts of the southern peninsula.
