Weather Update: Weather patterns are rapidly shifting. The cold has become more severe in the morning and evening. At the same time, the fog has begun to have an effect. Temperatures in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have plummeted due to rain and snowfall in the mountains. Meanwhile, rain is expected in many portions of South India and the hill states today, according to the Meteorological Department.

Meanwhile, due to the Western Disturbance, snow and rain are possible in the western Himalayan highlands even today. Significantly, there has been steady snowfall and rain on the Himalayan high peaks for several days. As a result, several places are experiencing a continual drop in temperature. The fact is that the temperature has dropped to minus in several places. People are having difficulty in such a condition because of the dropping mercury.

Meteorological Department forecast

Even today, the Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snow in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for snow and rain in numerous high mountain locations. In such a case, there is a good chance that the temperature will drop much further in these areas.

According to MAD, it would be witnessed across North and Central India in the coming days due to the continuing decline in temperature in hilly places. Many provinces in the country, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and Odisha, are expected to experience increasing cold during the next three to four days.

Rains expected

Rains are expected to persist in several locations today, including coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar, and Puducherry, according to the Meteorological Department. Rain is expected in numerous southern states today due to a low-pressure region over the southeast Bay of Bengal and its surroundings.

Skymet Weather, a private weather forecasting firm, predicts severe rainfall in various parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andaman and Nicobar. There will be heavy seas in the South Andaman Sea and neighbouring areas during this time. The wind speed could range between 40 and 50 kilometres per hour.

Minimum and maximum temperatures, on the other hand, continue to fall in regions of North West and Central India. The Delhi Air Quality Index is predicted to continue in the poor range.
