Weather Update: Summer is showing its colour in February. The temperature has increased due to strong sunlight during the day.
In many areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, the temperature has already reached near 40 degree Celsius. According to an estimate, in the next few days, there is a possibility of increase in temperature by four to five degrees above normal at many places in the plains. It is being told that if the temperature continues to rise like this, then this year the heat can break the record.
Temperature continues to rise
However, snowfall is still going on in the high altitude areas. Even today, there is a possibility of rain with light snowfall in many areas of Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain with strong wind and thunder in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur.

At the same time, the weather in Delhi NCR remains pleasant. However, for the last few days, continuous increase in minimum and maximum temperature is being seen here. People of Delhi-NCR have started feeling decent heat during day time. However, a slight drop in temperature is being recorded during the night. Even today in Delhi NCR, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 15 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be around 32 degree Celsius.
Skymet Weather predicts
According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayas from February 25. A Western Disturbance is seen as a trough over the Himalayas. And the induced cyclonic circulation is over Haryana and adjoining areas.

Snowfall and rain are expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim. While dense fog may occur in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. Day and night temperatures will be much above normal over northwest and central parts of the country.
