Weather Update: Cold weather is in its last legs across the country especially in north parts of India. However, last few days were colder due to the strong winds which were occurred because of western disturbances in the hilly areas. But now the winter weather seems to have come to an end as temperature in night witnessed a slight rise from Tuesday.
After plunging into chilly degree in the entire month of January the temperature is now on a see-saw.
Nights will turn warmer from next week with minimum temperatures hovering above normal at least by four degrees.
According to the Indian Metrological department (IMD) the weather in the northern parts of the country remained dry during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, IMD predicted that Minimum temperatures have increased by 2 to 3 degrees over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and parts of Rajasthan.
However, minimum temperature of Gujarat, south Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka, Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal have dropped by 2 to 4 degrees.
Weather Activity in the next 24 hours:
According to the skymet, during the next 24 hours, isolated light rain and snow are possible Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh during next two to three days.
Day and night temperature will increase over Northwest and Central parts of the country.
According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, rain and snow will continue in Arunachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. On the other hand, due to Western Disturbance, there may be rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayas from tomorrow i.e. 15th February. Meanwhile, northwesterly winds will continue at high speed from Punjab to Bihar even today. However, there may be a gradual increase in the maximum and minimum temperatures over the northwest and central parts of the country.
