IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department has warned against dense fog and cold wave conditions in multiple regions. As the country shivers under an intense cold wave due to a mixed spell of weather conditions, a sharp drop in temperature is expected in the coming days.
Cold Wave Warning
According to IMD, cold wave conditions will likely prevail at a few places over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, and Odisha on December 13 and 14. Meanwhile, an alert for a severe cold wave has been sounded over the North Interior
Karnataka until December 15.

The national capital region is also experiencing a rapid increase in cold waves, with milder-than-predicted temperatures and shallow fog disrupting morning routines. Delhi woke up to chilly weather on Saturday as dense fog reduced visibility in parts of the city and adjoining areas. The city can expect a clear sky with shallow fog during the early morning hours until December 18.
Dense Fog Warning
Dense fog conditions are expected to occur during the early morning hours in the following isolated pockets:
December 13 to 17: Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura
December 13 to 15: Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab, Haryana, West & East Uttar Pradesh
December 13 and 14: Himachal Pradesh
Rain/snowfall forecast
Due to a fresh western disturbance, light rain/snowfall is expected to lash the Western Himalayan Region, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, until December 18. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will likely receive light showers or snowfall on December 14. Meanwhile, the Kashmir Valley is experiencing a steady increase in chilly weather.
