Weather report today: The effect of snowfall and rain on the mountains of North India is plainly seen due to the Western Disturbance. The cold has returned to the North Indian plains. On the other side, rain has been falling in various South Indian states for several days as a result of the cyclonic storm ‘Mandous.’ The effect of cyclonic storm Mandus will be felt in these states even today, according to the Meteorological Department, and showers are predicted to continue.

On the other hand, the temperature in North India’s plains has dropped due to wintry winds blowing from the hills amid the rains in the southern states. Temperatures are swiftly dropping in various states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The reality is that a cold wave has begun in various parts of the country in the second week of December. As a result, people’s challenges are increasing all the time.

Snowfall and rain

Weather report today: In reality, there has been continuous snowfall and rain for several days due to Western Disturbances in the mountains of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. For the next several days, the India Meteorological Department predicts rain and snowfall in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, the weather pattern may alter in the following three to four days when the Western Disturbance moves beyond North Pakistan and its surrounding territories.

The effect of the chilly winds flowing from the steep areas, on the other hand, is clearly seen on the plains. Temperatures across the plains are steadily dropping during the day and at night. The influence of cold is gradually becoming obvious in Delhi-NCR (Delhi NCR Weather). However, it is still not as chilly as it is normally in December. The Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Delhi residents would have to endure the harsh cold.

Mercury drops

Meanwhile, fog is possible in the plains in the morning and evening, as well as morning frost in the mountains. Fog has already begun to fall in numerous areas. Visibility is quite low in several spots in the morning due to fog. As a result, traffic is suffering greatly. The fog is also wreaking havoc on long-distance trains. Trains are also being delayed as a result of the fog. As a result, the passengers had difficulties.

Light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers are expected over Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, parts of Karnataka, and the southern islands of Andaman and Nicobar, according to private weather forecasting organisation Skymet Weather. One or two moderate spells of light rain are possible over Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, South Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, and South Konkan, as well as Goa. Temperatures may fall during the day and at night over Northwest and Central India.
