The weather has once again turned pleasant across most parts of India, including Delhi-NCR, as the monsoon returns to North, Northeast, and Central India. Several states have received heavy rain over the past two days, which brought relief from the heat. Delhi temperatures have touched their lowest morning level for September in 15 years. Besides Delhi, it has also been raining very heavily in other parts of Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. The weather department IMD said that such rainfall will continue in these states today as well.
More Rain Likely to Continue in Delhi-NCR

Delhi has experienced heavy showers over the past two days and temperatures have plummeted significantly. For the last week of June, respite from the scorching heat waves has been in great welcome as this September, Delhi woke up to the chilliest morning in 15 years. On Thursday morning, the minimum temperature dipped to 21.1°C-four degrees below the season’s average.

This means, the IMD added, that on the day, cloudy skies would dominate the capital city. Though heavy rain is not in the offing, light showers may occur. Temperatures in the region are expected to rise with time, but the temperatures at large will be quite cool.

Weather Forecast Of Rajasthan
IMD has forecasted that many districts of Rajasthan are likely to experience rain in the next 24 hours. Shailesh Lamsal said that western parts of the state will remain mostly dry while showers have been forecasted for the east part of the state. The low-pressure area of Madhya Pradesh, which was behind the rains in the region, has weakened and thus there is reduced rainfall activity.

Still, light to moderate rainfall should still be on the cards in eastern Rajasthan today. There may still be drizzle over the next few days as a western disturbance is likely to stretch from Jaisalmer to Madhya Pradesh. This should keep some regions of the state cooler and pleasant, though it is scattered rains.

Torrential Rains In Hills: Himachal, Uttarakhand On Alert
Though plains are reporting moderate rainfall, extreme weather is seen in the hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The IMD has issued warnings of heavy rain and the possibility of landslides in both hill states.

Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have caused a severe disruption in transportation for the past few days; many roads have been blocked by landslides. While some regions will see relief in the rains, light showers could still be seen in some parts. Similarly, Uttarakhand is also expected to show gradual improvement in the weather, while scattered showers may prevail.

But in Himachal Pradesh, after all, rainfall is expected to continue until at least September 20, with the possibility of more in the next few days. People have been advised to be alert, especially in landslide-sensitive areas.

Heavy Rains To Subsiding Across India
The IMD has also reported that the heavy rains lashing different parts of the country would start receding. For the next 4-5 days, there is no indication of heavy rainfall in any major part of the country; however, some regions will witness isolated showers.

From 20 and 21st September, a heavy rain warning has been supposed to hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The rest of the nation can expect light to moderate rain. Meanwhile, according to IMD, Northeast India and Odisha are to experience heavy rainfall by the 22nd of September. Heavy rain is not expected all over the country, but on the 23rd of September, another round of heavy rains could flood parts of Northeast, Central, and North India.

Air Quality Of Delhi
The new AQI measurement in New Delhi is 126, and the air quality level is recorded in the poor category. The PM2.5 is 46, and it is nearly 3.1 times higher than the WHO set limit of 24 hours on an equal area; PM10 comes at 138. But the air is still a concern for the city on the whole.

Weather Forecast: What Next Weekend?
Most of India will have much rain ease; therefore, temperatures will stabilize. Many places will have less rainfall during the coming days. The brief respite from heavy rains allows residents in flood-hit and rain-battered areas to regain whatever control they might still have. Nevertheless, the residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Northeast India, and Odisha should not let their guards down and prepare for possible heavy rains later this month.
