This monsoon season threw everyone off the radar by bringing heavy rains over the entire country, starting from Delhi-NCR and beyond. Delhi witnessed a sunny Friday, and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are still on their guard for heavy rain.
Delhi Weather: Clear Skies After Rainy Days
The capital finally has sunshine after days of continuous rain. The IMD said there would be no more rain in the city for a few days. Today will mainly turn out to be quite cloudy and the maximum temperature will touch 34 degrees Celsius. Delhi’s minimum temperature touched 21.1 degrees Celsius on Thursday. This was its lowest so far in September since 2003 when the record was last set over 14 years ago because of the rains in the last three days. Even as the monsoon is getting set to withdraw from the city, people may still get a few more days of light rain giving them a very nice break from the heat.
Rajasthan: More Rains In Parts Of The State
Rajasthan is going to see more rain in the next few days. Light to moderate showers can be expected in areas like Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, and Kota due to cyclonic circulation. Following that, state rain activity is likely to decline. In eastern Rajasthan, there may be some light spells in isolated places, but western Rajasthan will remain dry till at least September 21. By the week commencing September 27, eastern Rajasthan might see an increase in rain with some places above normal as well.
Himachal Pradesh: Consecutive Rain Causes Disruption
Reports of the state’s bridges, roads, and even power supply becoming dysfunctional due to the increased rains in Himachal Pradesh are coming in thick and fast. Accordingly, 37 roads are said to be blocked while 57 power supply systems are out. Even though moderate rainfall had been reported in most parts of the state, the IMD has issued a rain alert for today. There is no forecast of heavy rains; however, the weather office has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for thunderstorms and lightning in the hill districts on September 25.
Weather In UP, Uttarakhand, And MP: Rains Set To Slow Down
While states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh are receiving less rainfall currently; heavy torrential rains within the last two days led to major flood conditions in some regions. The weather forecast department has issued warnings for the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh as well as Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, and Assam. Heavy rain is predicted in the states of Assam and Odisha. This may cause rivers to swell and create flood threats.
