Weather report 13 December: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts heavy to moderate rain in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka on Tuesday. It has issued a yellow alert for all of Kerala, as well as parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The central weather service has forecast moderate rainfall in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts. All other districts in Kerala can expect light rain in one or two places.
Karnataka is expected to get a lot of rain, according to the IMD. Chitradurga, Tumkur, Bangalore Rural, Ramnagar, and Mandya have orange alerts, while Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore Urban, Kolar, and Chikballapur have yellow alerts.
The temperature in most regions of North India is steadily dropping due to the continued snowfall on the mountains and the chilly winds coming from there. The weather pattern in the hilly states may worsen for the next two to three days, according to the India Meteorological Department, due to the potential of Western Disturbance moving ahead from North Pakistan and its bordering territories. For the next several days, there is a probability of rain and snowfall in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
On the other hand, the temperature of North India’s plains is steadily dropping due to chilly winds blowing in from the hills. Temperatures may fall further in various states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. As a result, people’s hardships may worsen in the coming days.
Fog in the plains

Visibility is quite low in several spots in the morning due to fog. As a result, traffic is suffering greatly. The fog is also wreaking havoc on long-distance trains. Heavy rains are expected to continue for the next two to three days in these states. The Meteorological Department has advised fisherman not to travel to the sea or sea beaches for two to three days due to Cyclone Mandus.
