New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that they resorted to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ as all the democratic ways to raise voice were closed. Gandhi made the statement in his public address during the foot march in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur.
Gandhi slammed the Narendra Modi-led central government on Wednesday and said the ways of fair elections, Lok Sabha and media are closed.
He held the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) responsible behind it, adding that the two has sabotaged indpendent institutions to misuse them.
Gandhi accused that the two outfits of controlling the judiciary. Upon finding no other way, the Congress decided to have a direct contact with the public by coming down to roads, said Gandhi.

He said the Congress planned to meet small businessmen, farmers and local directly to hear their complaints and connect with them.
2020 Political Drama in Madhya Pradesh
Reffering to a politcal brawl in Madhya Pradesh in 2020, Gandhi said the saffron party bought 20- 25 corrupt leaders to make their government in the state.
In March 2020, Congress leader Kamal Nath announced his resignation few hours ahead of the crucial floor test in the Assembly, ending his term of 15 months as the Chief Minister of the state.
The floor test became mandatory after 20 MLAs of the grand-old party resigned after a two-weeks of drama.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joins Bharat Jodo Yatra
As reported earlier, Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday joined the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ for the first time. The ‘Padyatra’ resumed Borgaon in Madhya Pradesh on 78th day.
Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi had started the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ on September 7 which aimed to revive the grand-old party across the nation. The foot march which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu will conclude in Srinagar, Kashmir.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has already covered several states including Telangana, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
