A video reportedly showing the moments just before a deadly fire began inside a popular nightclub in Goa has gone viral on the internet. The fire, which killed 25 people, broke out at Birch by Romeo Lane, a well-known club in Arpora, North Goa.
The fire reportedly began around midnight after a suspected cylinder blast inside the club’s kitchen. At the time, many tourists were dancing on the floor when the fire suddenly started.
Moments Before Fire Broke Out Inside a Goa Nightclub
In the video, a dancer can be seen performing to the Bollywood song “Mehbooba o Mehbooba” when flames suddenly appear behind the DJ console. Within seconds, the fire spreads quickly, filling the club with thick smoke.
The flames quickly reached the ceiling and the temporary palm-leaf decorations, trapping several staff members and a few visitors near the kitchen area.
Witnesses described scenes of panic as people tried to escape.
Goa Night-Club Horror: 25 Dead, Several Injured
Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control. Most of the victims were staff members, including three women, while four tourists were also among the dead.
According to officials, many deaths occurred due to suffocation caused by heavy smoke.
The death toll had climbed to 25. Seven others were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police said 14 of the deceased have been identified as staff members, and four as tourists, while the identities of the remaining victims are still being confirmed.
Goa CM Calls Incident “Unfortunate,” Orders Probe
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed his condolences and called it “unfortunate” for the state.

“The incident is very unfortunate for a tourism state like Goa. The people who run such things illegally, and a fire incident occurred…23 people have lost their lives…The government will conduct an inquiry into this incident. The inquiry will examine the exact cause of the fire, and those found responsible will face the most stringent action under the law….” said the Goa CM.
