Andhra Pradesh: An old video has surfaced showing students assaulting and beating their juniors at a private college in Narasaraopet, Andhra Pradesh. This video, filmed in February at the hostel of Sri Subbaraya and Narayana College, has prompted the police to register a case and begin an investigation.

The juniors were summoned to the hostel under the pretense of NCC (National Cadet Corps) training and were brutally beaten.

The video shows an individual escorting students one by one into a room, where they are beaten with sticks by a group of seniors. The seniors are seen laughing and encouraging each other to continue the assault while the students plead for mercy.

After the video emerged, police announced that an investigation would be conducted into the ragging incident. Additionally, a case has been registered under various sections of the Prohibition of Ragging Act.

Police reported that the incident occurred on February 2 of this year, and the students involved have since graduated, according to CI Chintala Krishna Reddy of One Town Police Station.

“We have registered a case against the students involved and will take stern action against them,” Reddy stated. He emphasized that ragging is a punishable offense and urged students to report such incidents to the management and police without delay.

The video was also shared by the YSR Congress Party, which criticized the Chandrababu Naidu-led government for the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh.
