Uttar Pradesh: The principal of a primary school in Aligarh was filmed napping in the classroom as her students fanned her with handheld fans. The video went viral, sparking outrage, and resulting in the suspension of the teacher, Dimple Bansal.

The video captures a primary school teacher in Gokulpur, Dhanipur region of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, comfortably sleeping on a mat on the classroom floor. As she sleeps, a girl stands beside her, waving a handheld fan. Subsequently, another girl also takes a turn fanning her, while other students sit nearby.

Following the outrage caused by the video, including reactions from the students’ parents, Basic Education Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh announced that an investigation would be conducted and strict action would be taken.
Meanwhile, another video surfaced showing the same teacher beating students. A probe by the Block Education Officer confirmed that both the video of the teacher sleeping and the footage of children being beaten feature the same teacher, though the latter video was from an earlier time.
Officials have stated that a probe team will be formed to investigate the matter.
