New Delhi: Heavy rainfall is expected to drench parts of north India, including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and the Delhi-NCR region on Monday, bringing relief from the scorching heat. However, the downpour has led to waterlogging and traffic congestion, causing inconvenience for commuters. Reports indicate that 19 individuals have been affected by rain-related incidents as heavy showers lash across northern India.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Northwest India, which includes the Western Himalayan Region, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan, can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, West India (Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat), East and Northeast India (West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur), Central India (Madhya Pradesh), and South India (Coastal Karnataka and Kerala) are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall from July 10 to July 12.
