New Delhi: Passengers trapped inside a bus beneath the Azad market underpass in Delhi were rescued by police and emergency teams on Friday. The bus had been stuck under the bridge for more than two hours due to extensive flooding following heavy rainfall in the capital.

Footage from the scene depicts passengers swimming to safety from the submerged bus, aided by policemen and rescue personnel who used ropes to assist them. Each passenger, equipped with life jackets, was carefully guided across the flooded roadway under the bridge, clinging to the ropes for support.

Heavy rainfall inundated numerous roads across Delhi-NCR, offering a welcome respite from the scorching heatwave that had gripped the city for the past month. The waterlogging disrupted traffic flow and compelled pedestrians to navigate through knee-deep water.
