WATCH: 8-Foot Crocodile Emerges On Maharashtra Street Amid Heavy Rain

Maharashtra: On Sunday, residents of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, encountered an unexpected guest when a crocodile emerged from a river and was seen walking along a rain-soaked road.

A video captured the 8-foot-long crocodile wandering on a road in Ratnagiri’s Chiplun area. Reports indicate that an autorickshaw driver filmed the video in the Chinchnaka area of Chiplun town, Ratnagiri district, during a steady downpour, according to an official.

The video also shows a few other vehicles, including an autorickshaw with its headlights on, attempting to follow the crocodile.

According to locals, the Shiva River, which flows through the city, is home to several crocodiles. They suspect that one of these crocodiles emerged from the river due to the heavy rainfall.

Last year, in a similar incident, people in Vadodara spotted a crocodile on the road near the Vishwamitri River as the monsoon season began in the state.

The 12-foot crocodile had emerged from Vadodara’s Vishwamitri River, a common occurrence in the area during the monsoon season. Later, forest officials captured the reptile and released it back into the river.
