Former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead by assailants on Saturday. The incident occurred in evening, outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East. Siddique was taken to Lilavati hospital around 9:30 pm, where efforts were made by the doctors to save him, but unfortunately, he died. His untimely death has sent shockwaves across the political fraternity, Bollywood and Television industry. Several leaders have called out the state government over law-and-order situation in Maharashtra.
Amid all the developments, reports have surfaced where it’s been claimed by the Lilavati Hospital doctors that Siddique may have died before reaching the hospital. The doctors stated that Siddique was unconscious and exhibited severe blood loss upon his arrival, Hindustan Times reported. The doctors attempted to save him for nearly two hours, but all went in vain and he was declared dead at 11:27 pm.
According to reports, Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief operating officer atLilavati Hospital and Research Hospital informed that Baba Siddique was brought to Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, Emergency Medical Services at 9.30pm on Saturday in an unresponsive condition with no pulse, no blood pressure recording, no cardiac activity and with gunshot wounds to the chest. He was shifted to ICU where team of doctors tried to save him.
On question of whether Baba Siddique had died before being rushed to hospital, one of the doctors told PTI that it is possible as there was no response from Siddique when he was brought to the hospital; he was unconscious, “We undertook resuscitation, but Siddique was declared dead at 11.27 pm on Saturday,” added the doctor.
The doctors said yesterday, that further details about gunshot will be revealed only after post-mortem.
The statements of doctors have raised doubts whether Baba Siddique was dead before he was taken to hospital. Mumbai Police have already begun their investigation into the murder case. They have arrested two accused and are trying to nab the third one.
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar are monitoring the situation and have instructed Mumbai Police officials for speedy action.
