Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 LIVE Updates: The Lok Sabha passed the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 on Thursday after an 11-hour-long debate. Members of the INDIA bloc fiercely opposed the legislation, while the BJP and its allies strongly supported it, saying it would bring transparency and enhance the efficiency of Waqf boards. The bill was passed after amendments made by the opposition members were negatived. The House sat beyond midnight to pass the legislation. The Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 will now be tabled in Rajya Sabha today.

On the Waqf Amendment Bill, the Chairperson of Delhi State Haj Committee, Kausar Jahan, said, "It is a historic day. The Waqf Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha, and today, it will be passed in the Rajya Sabha as well. It has proved to be a milestone under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Waqf properties will be managed and put to good use. It is a good step for the welfare of the 'qaum'."
Chandigarh: On the Waqf Bill passed in Lok Sabha, Haryana Minister Vipul Goel said, "I congratulate and thank Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi that a bill which eliminates irregularities and prevents anyone from taking advantage of Waqf was passed in the Lok Sabha and today will be passed in the Rajya Sabha as well. If there are any irregularities or wrongdoings in any institution, then it is in the interest of the institution and the country to correct that. On the Waqf Amendment Bill passed in the Lok Sabha, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "Some people did not want a mythological place like Prayagraj to gain its identity because their vote bank was important for them. In the name of Waqf, they had tried to capture the land here in Prayagraj and other cities as well. When we were organising Maha Kumbh, the Waqf Board was making arbitrary statements that the land of Kumbh in Prayagraj is also Waqf land. Is it the Waqf Board or the 'Land Mafia' Board? Speaking in Rajya Sabha on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "Just before implementation of model code of conduct ahead of 2014 general elections, on March 5, 2014, UPA govt denotified 123 prime properties and handed them over to Delhi Waqf Board. These properties were of the Housing and Urban Affairs ministry."

After the Waqf bill was passed in the Lok Sabha, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske said, "The opposition is trying to incite minorities, and they are doing such things for the vote. I want to ask the opposition why their leader and the LoP (Rahul Gandhi) didn't speak a word in the House about the Manipur and about the Waqf issue in the House, which he keeps talking about outside the House."

After the Waqf Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Aazad Samaj Party - Kanshi Ram, Chandra Shekhar Azad said, "Yesterday, the parties that use to talk about Muslim reservations and talk about bringing Muslims to the mainstream - the same parties betrayed Muslims and supported the bill. On the Waqf Amendment Bill passed in Lok Sabha, JPC chairman and BJP MP Jagdambika Pal said, "Yesterday, the debate on the bill lasted for 12 hours, after that voting took place. The whole country saw how the debate took place...We are satisfied that the government agreed to all the recommendations proposed by the JPC. Everyone will benefit from this bill now.
