From wanting to become a teacher to ending up as Rajasthan’s CM, let’s delve into Bhajanlal Sharma’s journey. The new Chief Minister of Rajasthan faced hurdles in his teaching career despite obtaining a B.Ed degree. Sharma, a former member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, rose through various roles in the organization to eventually secure the Chief Minister position. His educational journey began at Attari village, where he attended primary school until 8th grade, followed by studies in Gagwana village for grades 9 and 10. For his higher secondary education, Sharma and his friend Rambabu Sharma moved to Nadbai, where they shared a rented room and completed their 12th grade together.
After Nadbai, they enrolled at Maharani Shri Jaya College in Bharatpur, graduating in different subjects. Both pursued B.Ed degrees but couldn’t land teaching positions. During this phase, Bhajan Lal Sharma joined the BJP, climbing the ranks from District President to State Vice President and eventually to State General Secretary, paving his way to the Chief Minister’s role.
The news of Sharma’s ascension to Chief Minister brought jubilation to Attari village. Villagers celebrated with fireworks akin to Diwali, distributed sweets, illuminated their homes with lamps, and rejoiced with lively DJ-fueled dances throughout the village. Described as affable and academically inclined from an early age, Bhajan Lal Sharma’s journey from winning the Sanganer Assembly election to being selected as Chief Minister surprised the villagers, who initially expected him to become a minister but were ecstatic when he emerged as the Chief Ministerial choice.
