A video showing two daughters physically assaulting their father while the mother restrains him went viral on social media. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena. The man allegedly died by suicide at his residence.
The deceased has been identified as Harendra Maurya. The police have launched a probe into the matter. It sent the body for postmortem, saying that it would come after the examination whether he died by suicide or he was murdered.
In the viral video clip, Harendra’s wife is seen holding his legs while his two daughters are thrashing him with sticks and he is screaming in pain. Even his son resisted their act but they scolded him. Harendra wanted to free himself, but his wife did not let him.
The video has sparked outrage on social media and Netizens reacted to the video by demanding a stern punishment for the guilty. Harendra had three daughters and a son. He organised his daughters’ wedding on March 1. Later, Harendra’s wife expressed her wish to return to her paternal home and wanted to separate from him.
Harendra, later, isolated himself in a room. When the family members began searching for him, he was found hanging in the room. He was taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Harendra’s in-laws alleged that his father and brother killed him.
