Just like last year, when the Shree Ram Navami Processions came under attack at Dalkhola, Rishra & Serampore due to the lack of intent of Mamata Police, this year as well Mamata Police failed to protect the Ram Bhakts.

The incident occurred shortly after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s warning about potential riots during Ram Navami in Murshidabad. Banerjee’s statement followed the Election Commission’s decision to remove the Deputy Inspector General of Police of Murshidabad due to reported violence in the district and accusations of inadequate supervision by the officer.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mamata Banerjee claimed that there were schemes underway to provoke riots in the state during the Ram Navami celebrations. Last year’s Ram Navami celebrations in Bengal were also marred by violence, resulting in a significant confrontation between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress.
