Vindhya Expressway: Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state is undergoing significant transformation. Efforts are underway to expand the road network and develop the infrastructure. In line with the Chief Minister’s vision, the upcoming project, the Vindhya Expressway received a green signal in January. Additionally, the Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway was also approved. Once functional, the new expressways will connect key districts and promote economic growth.
Key Details Of Vindhya Expressway
The 320-km-long Vindhya expressway will reportedly be built from Prayagraj and extend up to Sonbhadra. The estimated cost of constructing the Vindhya Expressway is Rs 22,400 crore. The stretch aims to connect Mirzapur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chandauli, and Bhadohi. According to reports, the route will improve connectivity in neighbouring states such as Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh to Uttar Pradesh, thereby boosting tourism and trade.
Completion Date
Commuters will highly benefit from this game-changer project which is set to connect the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj with National Highway -39 in Sonbhadra. The date of completion of the expressway is yet to be finalised. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is overseeing the execution of the Vindhya Expressway. Meanwhile, the Yogi Government is planning to set up a mega industrial park in the area to boost the local economy. Discussions also also underway to turn the region into a religious tourism site to attract devotees and tourists.
Vindhya-Purvanchal link expressway: The 100-kilometer-long Vindhya-Purvanchal link expressway aims to connect Chandauli on the Vindhya Expressway to Ghazipur.
