Residents of the house and neighbors attempted to extinguish the flames but were unsuccessful. The local fire department was then notified.
At least two fire tenders were dispatched to the scene by the nearby fire department. After considerable effort, they managed to extinguish the fire.
As a precaution, authorities disconnected the cooking gas connection to prevent further potential damage.
