Vande Bharat Latest Update: After Patna-Ranchi, Bihar will get its second Vande Bharat train on September 24, Sunday. The semi high-speed train, which will be inaugurated by PM Modi tomorrow will run between Patna and Howrah route. Talking to reporters, Birendra Kumar, the Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway (ECR), stated that the eagerly anticipated trial runs for the new Vande Bharat train service between Patna and the twin cities of Howrah-Kolkata in West Bengal are set to commence soon. As of now, the railway authorities have determined a maximum allowable speed of 130 kilometres per hour for this route. However, the ultimate operational speed will only be determined once the trial runs are completed.
Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Train: Speed, Time, Route And Other Details
- According to the tentative plan, the train will operate during the daytime at a speed of 90 kmph to 110 kmph.
- The train will make a halt at Jasidih (Deoghar in Jharkhand) and Asansol (West Bengal) on the 535-km route.
- It will cover the distance between Patna and Howrah in less than 7 hours, 6 hours and 30 minutes to be precise. Usually, it takes 8-10 trains to travel between 2 cities via other trains.
9 Vande Bharat Trains to be Launched on Sunday
Meanwhile, in a bid to expand the existing network of high-speed trains in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 9 new Vande Bharat trains on Sunday. At present, there are 25 Vande Bharat Express trains operating in various parts of the country. With the addition of these nine new routes, the total number of Vande Bharat Express trains in operation will increase to 34, benefiting travellers across India.
