Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Update: One of the much-awaited railway projects, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, is aimed at revolutionizing overnight travel. Equipped with modern and premium passenger amenities, these trains will very soon set a benchmark for long-distance train journeys. At present, 164 services of Vande Bharat trains with Chair Car run across vast networks in the country.
Railway Minister shares Big Update!
Earlier on December 3, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared the latest updates on the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. “To cater to long and medium distance overnight travel, the Sleeper variant of the Vande Bharat train has been indigenously designed. Two such rakes have been manufactured and are under trial/ commissioning. The Vande Bharat Sleeper variant has faster acceleration and deceleration,” he said.
Indian Railways has decided to launch two Vande Bharat Sleeper trains at the same time. The final touches on the two state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express sleeper train rakes are underway at the Bharat Earthmovers Limited (BEML) factory in Bengaluru.
Train on Delhi-Patna route on…
India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will undergo a trial run between Delhi and Patna. Each rake will consist of a total of 16 coaches. It is estimated to become operational towards the end of December.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Features
- The new Vande Bharat sleeper train consists of 16 coaches, including 11 AC 3-tier, 4 AC 2-tier, and one AC First class compartment.
- This semi-high-speed train is capable of running at 160 kmph speed, and a testing speed of 180 kmph.
- It is designed to offer superior comfort to passengers with well-appointed coaches and padded berths.
- Advanced bio-vacuum toilets are being installed on the train. It will accommodate disabled passengers and include child care facilities.
- The indigenous KAVACH anti-collision technology protects these trains.
- The coaches are equipped with automatically connecting doors between compartments.
- The other features include personal reading lights, power outlets, and tables for refreshments.
