A shocking incident unfolded in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, South Kashmir, on April 22, where terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists, resulting in multiple injuries. In this attack, 26 have been killed and several injured.
Following this, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi received a grand welcome from the Kerala community in Dubai at an event, sparking sharp reactions on social media. The outrage intensified after Afridi made anti-India remarks following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.
Amid allegations of Pakistani terror organisations being involved in the attack and questions being raised on the role of the Pakistani government, Afridi blamed the Indian Army and termed them ‘incompetent’, which further fuelled the anger among the people. Meanwhile, Afridi’s warm welcome by the Kerala community in Dubai upset many social media users, as reported by the Free Press Journal.
After the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government blocked Afridi’s YouTube and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, as has happened with many other Pakistani cricketers and some Pak news channels.

Previously, during the talk show, Shahid Afridi said that “You have an army of 8 lakhs deployed in Kashmir, despite that, such an incident happened there. This means that you people have completely failed in providing security to your people – you people are useless and incompetent.”
A social media user created this by calling it ‘Shameful’. Another user wrote, “Shame On Them.”
Another X user wrote, “Shame to see these happen!!”
