Draft Submitted To Uttarakhand Chief Minister
If media reports are to be believed, the final draft of rules and regulations submitted to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami contains details of matters pertaining to the registrations of marriages, divorces, live-in relationships, births, deaths, and also succession rules.
Expert Panel Hands Over Final Draft
The nine-member expert panel appointed by the government and headed by former Chief Secretary Shatrughna Singh handed over the final draft to CM Dhami. The state government will soon present the final draft to the Cabinet for approval.
While speaking to the media, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Two days before the state assembly elections, on behalf of my party, I had presented a proposal before the people of the state that as soon as we form the government, the first decision of the government will be to introduce the UCC. I give all credit to the people of the state who entrusted us with their votes.”
