New Delhi: The Uttarakhand Police Thursday registered a case against a team of Uttar Pradesh’ Moradabad cops who carried out a botched up encounter claiming a life of an innocent woman.

On Wednesday evening, at least 10-12 police officials reached Udham Singh Nagar area in pursuit of mining mafia Zafar and barged into a house and fired. The said operation was carried out without informing the local police.

In a clip while talking to media, DIG Nilesh Bharne mentioned that the number of police personnel came from Moradabad is uncertain as they were in plain clothes. He said that several teams have been constituted to find out the involved police personnel.

He further said that a case has been registered against 10-12 police personnel of UP’s Moradabad Police for the alleged murder. The following sections have been imposed: sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 302 (murder), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 120-b (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
