Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the closing ceremony of the 62nd All India Shaastrotsav Competition at Patanjali University. During his address, he emphasized that Indian scriptures are not just texts but a means to understand the mysteries of the universe. He highlighted that the foundation of Indian culture and traditions lies in these ancient scriptures, which encompass deep knowledge of science, yoga, medicine, mathematics, and philosophy.
CM Dhami stated that the research conducted by sages and seers should not only be preserved as a legacy but also be expanded and developed in modern contexts. He mentioned that just as the profound knowledge of Advaita Vedanta spread across India, Shastrotsav would also help propagate the hidden wisdom of Sanskrit and scriptures across the nation and the world. He further stressed the need to present Vedas and scriptures in a practical manner to instill interest and confidence in future generations.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is taking special steps to promote Sanatan and ancient Indian knowledge, aiming to establish it on a global level. He underscored the need to integrate India’s rich Vedic knowledge more effectively into the education system. According to him, if ancient wisdom is presented with a scientific perspective, it could benefit all of humanity.
Swami Ramdev’s Address
Patanjali University Chancellor Swami Ramdev also addressed the gathering, asserting that Sanskrit is not just a language but has the potential to lead the world in various fields. He stated that Sanatan Dharma and ancient Indian scriptures encompass knowledge from all domains. Swami Ramdev described the All India Shastrotsav as a confluence of Sanskrit and culture, adding that all major world languages have their roots in Sanskrit, a fact that everyone should take pride in. He emphasized the need to promote Sanskrit and revive the Indian knowledge tradition.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities, including Mahamandaleshwar Swami Punyanandgiri Maharaj, former Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Swami Yativarayanand Ji Maharaj, Vice-Chancellor of Shri Somnath Sanskrit University, Veraval, Gujarat, Professor Sukant Kumar Senapati, Vice-Chancellor of Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit University, Assam, Professor Prahlad R. Joshi, and Vice-Chancellor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi, Dr. Murli Manohar Pathak. Additionally, many eminent figures from Patanjali University and the Central Sanskrit University were also present.
