New Delhi: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the Government of India’s extensive support for various externally aided projects and special assistance schemes for capital projects, including the approval of the Jamrani Dam project for the development of the state.

Thanking the state for giving the responsibility of three important meetings of G20, said that the working group meeting of the Chief Scientific Adviser was successfully organized in Ramnagar. The Chief Minister invited the Prime Minister for Chardham Yatra, Adi Kailash and Mayawati Ashram located at Lohaghat. In the meeting with the Prime Minister which lasted for about an hour, the Chief Minister discussed various issues related to the development of the State and sought the Prime Minister’s guidance.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister presented Munsiyari’s shawl, coffee table book of the successful G20 event in Uttarakhand, coffee table book of one year’s new example, millet and replica of Jageshwar Dham to the Prime Minister.

Informing the Prime Minister about the relief and displacement works of the landslide victims in the Joshimath area of Chamoli, the Chief Minister said that an economic package of Rs 2942.99 crore is required for landslides and landslides. In the said package, the construction of 150 pre-fabricated houses, site development work, and affected allowance are important for temporary relief and accommodation to the affected.

Compensation for residential and commercial infrastructure, compensation for lands of families falling in the unsafe zone, permanent rehabilitation of affected persons and acquisition and development of land and repair and restoration of affected departmental infrastructures are included. The work of stabilization and redevelopment of Joshimath is also to be done.

The Uttarakhand Landslide Mitigation and Management Center has been set up by the state government, which will advise on landslide improvement and management at the national level as a centre of excellence. The centre has started functioning in Joshimath, a roadmap has been prepared for the affected landslide, disaster-affected risk area.

The Chief Minister said that the recommendation was given in the meeting of the Public Investment Board organized by the Finance Ministry for the Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project. The Chief Minister also urged the Prime Minister to get financial approval for the Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.

The Chief Minister also urged for starting the Vande Bharat train service from Haridwar to Varanasi, saying that this would provide great convenience to pilgrims and tourists.

The Chief Minister said that under the National Livestock Mission, 240 Marino sheep were imported from Australia in December 2019. Based on its success, it is proposed to import 500 merino sheep in the first phase, which can yield about 500 metric tons of high-quality wool in the next 3-4 months, which is important for the Indian textile industry under the concept of self-reliant India. For this cooperation is required from the Ministry of Animal Husbandry and the Ministry of Textiles.

State Millet Mission is being operated by the state from the years 2023-24 to 2027-28. Under the Millet Mission, 10,000 metric tonnes of Maduwa will be procured from farmers and distributed through PDS. Along with this, Jhangore’s kheer will be made available to the students once a week during the mid-day meal. There is a need to issue minimum support prices for Jhangora, Ramdana and Kakuni.

The Chief Minister also requested permission to use Satya Beej of Gahat and Kala Bhat crops under the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission, pulses and oilseeds.

The Chief Minister said that Rs 280 crore has been approved by NABARD for the establishment of 18 thousand playhouses in the state, which will employ about 1 lakh people. To encourage maximum apple production in the state, a scheme of Rs 35 crore has been approved under the Apple Mission. High-value crops like- Kiwi Dragon Fruit, Strawberries etc. are being promoted by the State Government.

The Chief Minister said that according to the guidelines of the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission Scheme (NBHM), a proposal of Rs. 249.529 crores has been sent to the Central Government for the overall development of beekeeping in the state, in which a total grant of Rs. Requesting the Prime Minister to approve the proposal, the Chief Minister said that about 45,000 cattle herders would get direct benefits from the said proposal, while all the horticulturists and farmers of the state would get indirect benefits through an increase in production.

Rishikesh AIIMS satellite centre with 280 beds is approved for Udham Singh Nagar (Kumaon division). CPWD is the executive body. A quick pace of work is expected.

The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to direct the concerned to operate air services at Naini Saini Airport in Pithoragarh and transfer the airport to the Indian Air Force (Ministry of Defence) because of the expansion of the airport.
