Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to inaugurate the Global Investment Conference being organized in Dehradun on December 8 and 9, 2023.
During the meeting, Uttarakhand CM expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for the safe evacuation of the workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel.

Dhami engaged in extensive discussions on multiple state-related matters with the PM Modi. Expressing gratitude for the inclusion of the Jamarani Dam Project in the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Uttarakhand CM thanked the Prime Minister for the sanctioned amount of Rs. 1730.21 crore.

He also sought approval for Rs. 2460 crore for the capital expenditure of the Song Dam Drinking Water Project and Rs. 3000 crore as special financial aid for the enhancement of the Jolly Grant Airport.
Additionally, the Chief Minister urged for the establishment of the All India Ayurveda Institute within the Rishikul Ayurvedic College campus in Haridwar and the inclusion of Uttarakhand in the Kiwi Feasibility Study in collaboration with New Zealand.
In the realm of infrastructure, he requested approval of Rs. 1000 crore and sanctioning of 20 Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for road development, focusing on specific motor roads. Furthermore, he sought the declaration of the Ranikhet-Bhatronjkhan motor road as a national highway and approval for tunnel projects like Jolingkong-Bedang (05 km), Sipu-Tola (22 km), and Milam Lapthal (30 km) in Kumaon.
The Chief Minister appealed for full financial support for the Tanakpur-Bageshwar Railway Scheme to be acknowledged as a national project. Additionally, he urged immediate action by the Airport Authority of India for fixed-wing aircraft operations from Naini-Saini Airport, alongside expansion plans for Pantnagar Airport and the establishment of a Government Ayurveda College and Research Center in the Kumaon region.

Furthermore, Dhami requested permission for the development of proposed hydroelectric projects on the Dhauliganga and Gauri Ganga rivers in Pithoragarh district, along with the authorization for 11 uncontested projects with a combined capacity of 771 MW in Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, and tributaries. Additionally, he sought approval for the development of 10 projects, totaling 1352 MW, recommended by Expert Committee-2 across rivers and tributaries.
