Deepu Nishad went missing on June 14, and his body was found on June 15.
The situation escalated when the Minister expressed his dissatisfaction, leading a mob believed to be affiliated with the Nishad Party to vandalize the furniture and motorcycle of the village head and his brothers named in the FIR.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ratnesh Tiwari urged the Cabinet Minister to assist in keeping the peace.
At the same time, angry about the attack on the village head’s house, hundreds of villagers and supporters gathered and shouted slogans against the Minister, leading to a confrontation.
The Minister had to leave quickly as the situation became tense. Local police officials notified Deoria Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma, who also urged the Minister to depart from the village.
The Minister left the village, and authorities managed to calm the situation.
Later, Sanjay Nishad stated that he had come to the village to seek justice for the victims.
The Deoria SP assured him over the phone that the accused would be arrested.
The Minister accused some local officials of protecting the accused, who were out on bail in another case.
He mentioned that he would bring this issue to the attention of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Meanwhile, security around the village has been heightened due to the upcoming visit of the Samajwadi Party’s fact-finding committee on Sunday.
Circle Officer, Rudrapur, Anushman Srivastav, stated that upon receiving Ramavati Devi’s complaint, the police filed a case against the village head Chandra Bhan Singh and his brothers and began an investigation.
