A shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur, where a woman was strangled to death after the demand for dowry was not fulfilled. When the demand for a dowry of four lakh rupees was not fulfilled, the in-laws, including the husband, strangled the married woman to death. On Sunday morning, shockwaves were sent through the area when her body was found in a garden near Meera Ki Reti in the Garhmukteshwar police station area. The woman had been subjected to harassment by her in-laws for an extended period. Following a complaint from her maternal side, the police have filed a report against six named individuals, including the husband. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, as reported by Jagran.
Police is searching for the accused of murder. Shahana of Mohalla Majidpura of Hapur Kotwali area told that her husband is Ejaz, Sons are Anas, Basat, Rihan, and she has only one daughter was Sajiya (26). In the year 2021, she married her daughter Sajiya to Zeeshan of Mohalla Meera Reti of Thana Garhmukteshwar area. Shortly after the marriage, husband Zeeshan and in-laws Nafees, Farman, Irfan, Reshma, and Tasleem started harassing Sajiya by demanding additional dowry. After marriage, Sajiya gave birth to daughters Alshifa and Zia. Even after this, the accused did not stop harassing her. Troubled by the harassment, Sajiya was living in her maternal home with both daughters.
Previous Attempt To Kill Sazia
Shahana stated that in 2023, Sajiya gave birth to a daughter named Jiya at a hospital in Meerut. Following the birth, her in-laws, including her husband, abandoned her at the hospital. Shahana took responsibility for the treatment of both Sajiya and her daughter Jiya. On August 7, 2023, Shahana contacted Zeeshan, asking him to transfer money for the hospital treatment. The next afternoon, August 8, 2023, Zeeshan visited his adopted sister’s house near the water tank in the Garh Gate Chowki area. He called Sajiya there under the pretense of giving her some money, and she agreed to meet him. They all sat and conversed inside the house. At some point, Zeeshan lured Sajiya outside and shot her. She collapsed on the road, bleeding from a gunshot wound to her neck.
Accused Trid To Kills Mother-In Law
Shahana said that after shooting her daughter, Zeeshan had also fired at her. To save her life, she hid behind a car parked on the road and shouted for help. After which Zeeshan fled from there in a car with his companions.
Somehow, she reached the police station with her daughter in a person’s car. The police admitted Sajiya to the government hospital on Dastoi Road. From where she was referred to Meerut. Somehow, Sajiya’s life was saved.
Shahana stated that she had filed a report regarding the attempted murder of Sajiya. The police arrested Zeeshan and imprisoned him. Later, Zeeshan and his family members apologized to the victim and her daughter. Trusting the accused, Sajiya gave a testimony in Zeeshan’s favor in court. After spending about two months in jail, Zeeshan was granted bail. Following his release, he took Sajiya and her two daughters to his in-laws’ house.
Things were fine for the first week, but soon after, Zeeshan and his relatives began to harass Sajiya. Distressed by this, Sajiya moved back to her maternal home with her daughters.
Afterward, Zeeshan continued to threaten Sajiya with murder. On the 24th, while Sajiya was traveling to Hapur court for a case hearing, Zeeshan forcibly made her enter his car and then took her to Garhmukteshwar.
Talked To Daughter On Phone Call
Shahana made the first call to him, when her daughter disappeared. The phone call was passed through to Zeeshan when Shahana made the contact. Shahana moved to speak with her daughter right after completing her call with Zeeshan. Through the phone call Daughter informed her mother that she would return home very shortly. Sajiya’s lifeless body was located in the garden close to Meera Reti locality on Sunday morning, and this information reached her. The relatives entered into disarray after her disappearance. She arrived at the location together with her relatives. She held Sajiya’s dead body as she wept from emotion. She learned through this incident that Zeeshan along with his family members, had strangled Sajiya to death.
His attempts to murder his sibling Nafees with a pistol occurred on September 13th, 2018. The intended bullet passed by Nafees but missed to cause harm. Therefore, he remained unharmed. The police filed legal documents, followed by his imprisonment in detention. The criminal attempted a murder on a girl at the Mussoorie district of Ghaziabad. This situation led to his imprisonment alongside the first incident.
In the murder case, a report has been registered against the deceased’s husband Zeeshan and in-laws Nafees, Farman, Irfan, Reshma and Tasleem. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The police is searching for the murder accused. They will be arrested soon. The case will be investigated impartially and the culprits will be punished, said Neeraj Kumar, Inspector in charge, Gadhmukteshwar Police Station.
