A man from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly stripped and beaten up by the family of his female friend. The young man had been in communication with the girl on phone for the last five months.
The girl had called the man to her village on Tuesday, to meet her family but when he got there he was held captive and assaulted by her family. There is a video of the man describing his ordeal which is circulating on social media.
The man in the video claims he was stripped naked, tied down, and beaten with sticks. He also claims he was forced to drink urine and boiling hot water was poured over him. The man has been identified as Atul Kashyap and he claimed that he was beaten with a hammer on his genitals.

When police received information they took Atul to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Atul has injury marks all over his body. His whole body is blue because of the beating, and he is in critical condition.
“Atul Kashyap was in friendship with the girl from Lonar police station for past 5 months. The girl’s family had called him to meet them on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Atul and girl’s family exchanged heated argument after which the issue escalated and they assaulted him”, said a senior police officer.
The officer further added, Atul’s condition is stable and he is under going treatment. A case will be registered after receiving. Further investigation is underway.
