An 18-month-old girl, daughter of a chaat vendor in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, tragically died after falling into a large vessel of boiling chickpeas ('chhola') being cooked at her home in the Duddhi area.

In a tragic incident on Saturday night in Duddhi area of ​​Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, the 18-month-old daughter of a chaat vendor died of burn injuries. The girl fell into a large vessel in which 'chhole' was being cooked at home.

Earlier, two years ago, her elder sister had died in a similar accident when she fell into a vessel of boiling 'dal'. This information has been given by journalist Rajiv Dixit.

Circle Officer of Duddhi area Rajesh Kumar Rai said that the family cremated the girl without informing the police. When the police reached there, investigation revealed that it was an accident.

The girl's father Shailendra said that on Friday his wife was boiling chickpeas for 'golgappa' and had gone to another room for some work. During that time, while playing, his daughter Priya fell into the boiling vessel.

Hearing the girl's scream, the mother immediately reached and took her out, then she was taken to the local hospital. When his condition became serious, doctors referred him to the district hospital, where he died during treatment on Saturday.
