Uttar Pradesh is rapidly expanding its expressway network, with several major expressways already constructed. Recently, plans for nine additional expressways have been approved, spanning a total of 2,063 kilometers. The estimated cost for building these new expressways exceeds Rs 20,000 crore.
Here Is The List Of 9 Expressways:
1. Lucknow Link Expressway: 49.96 km (from Agra-Lucknow Expressway to Purvanchal Expressway)
2. Farrukhabad Link Expressway: 90.84 km (from Ganga Expressway to Agra Lucknow Expressway)
3. Jewar Link Expressway: 74.30 km (from Yamuna Expressway to Ganga Expressway via Bulandshahr)
4. Jhansi Link Expressway: 118.90 km
5. Vindhya Expressway: 320 km
6. Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway: 120 km (up to Uttar Pradesh border) 7. Chitrakoot to Rewa Link Expressway: 70 km
8. Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway: 519 km
9. Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway: 700 km
There are plans that two expressways in UP will be built by NHAI: Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway and Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway and the remaining seven expressways will come from UPDA. After these expressways are ready, the state’s expressway system will measure 4374 km, a record that stands out. As for UP expressways, seven are currently working such as the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway (24.53 km), Yamuna Expressway (165 km), Agra-Lucknow Expressway (302 km), Purvanchal Expressway (341 km), Bundelkhand Expressway (296 km) and Meerut-Delhi Expressway (96 km).
