Uttar Pradesh: A 17-year-old boy, identified only as Shivam, tragically died on Saturday after being brutally attacked by his girlfriend’s family. The incident occurred on Friday when Shivam, responding to a phone call from his girlfriend, visited her home and was met with violence.
According to police reports, Shivam was severely beaten with sticks and assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon by members of his girlfriend’s family. He sustained a deep, bleeding head wound and multiple injuries across his body. Despite being rushed to a local community health center, Shivam was declared dead upon arrival. Dr. Manish Raj Sharma, the medical officer in charge, confirmed that the teenager succumbed to excessive blood loss.
Shivam’s uncle, Ramesh Chandra, recounted the horrific scene at the police station, describing how Shivam, in his final moments, revealed that upon arriving at his girlfriend’s house, he was forcibly dragged inside by her uncle and other men. They proceeded to beat him mercilessly, and one attacker struck him with a sharp-edged weapon.

Police Sub-Inspector Ramesh Bhadauria of Deuria Kotwali, Uttar Pradesh stated that the girl’s parents were not home during the assault; her mother was visiting her parental house, and her father was in another village. The attack occurred when Shivam was confronted by the girl’s uncle.

Authorities have arrested two individuals from the girl’s family and have charged them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including section 105 for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. An investigation is ongoing to apprehend all involved parties and bring them to justice.
